Founded in Chicago in 2019, QuietRelay exists to make Signal deployable, governable, and genuinely usable for every type of organization across the United States.
Why we exist
QuietRelay was founded because we kept seeing the same situation: organizations that understood the importance of secure communication, had heard of Signal, and had no idea how to implement it correctly. They would install the app, create a few groups, and call it done — with no policy, no consistent settings, and no confidence that it was actually protecting them.
We built a practice around fixing that. Signal is an exceptional tool. It is not, however, self-deploying. Group architecture, disappearing message policies, linked device governance, and staff understanding all require intentional design. That is what we provide.
Today we work with law firms, nonprofits, small businesses, and distributed teams across twelve US states. Our engagement model is straightforward: we assess, we configure, we train, and we document. Then we stay available.

Honesty Over Salesmanship
We tell clients exactly what Signal can and cannot do. We do not oversell. If a different tool is better suited to part of your workflow, we will tell you that, even if it means a smaller engagement for us.
Simplicity as Security
Complexity is the enemy of adoption. A technically perfect deployment that nobody uses is a failed deployment. We design for real people with real schedules and real levels of technical patience.
Documentation as Accountability
Every engagement produces written records. Configuration decisions, policy rationale, training session summaries. Our clients can always answer the question: why does our Signal setup look the way it does?

QuietRelay is a deliberately small practice. We maintain a tight roster of consultants so that every client works directly with a senior advisor — not a junior associate following a template. Our team members hold backgrounds in digital security, organizational management, and plain-language communication.
